Since its first class of graduates more than 50 years ago, Winnetonka has maintained high expectations of student success. Students, teachers, staff and administrators all work together to create a community that encourages students to excel in a supportive environment. At Winnetonka, students can explore their possibilities, relationships are a priority, and students are celebrated for their unique purpose.
The successes of Winnetonka's students, staff and teachers have been recognized at the local, state and national levels. From individual scholarships to school-wide distinction, Winnetonka is proud to celebrate the accomplishments of all.
First AVID National Demonstration High School in Missouri
The AVID program at Winnetonka earned recognition in Spring 2018 as a National Demonstration School and was revalidated in Spring 2023. Winnetonka is the first High School in Missouri to earn this distinction after completing a rigorous application process including a screening, review, and on-site visit.
Three Seniors Named National Merit Semifinalists
Three Winnetonka seniors have been named National Merit® Scholarship Semifinalists for 2018-2019. They are:

Kaye Vandendaele
Semifinalists will be notified in February if they have advanced to Finalist standing. Many will earn the Merit Scholar® title, winning one of the $2,500 National Merit® scholarships. Congratulations to our three seniors!
